Augie
Janner was the son of one of the finest of the Great Lakes fish decoy
carvers,
Hans Janner, Sr. Growing up in a
Mt. Clemens household filled with artists/sportsmen,
Augie was considered
the most talented of the group and knew all the techniques
and secrets
of the masters.
As
an artist, Augie was gifted as both a woodcarver and
metalworker who
created spears, decoys, shanties and boats which are widely collected
today.
